In “Beauty Costs,” a woman is found murdered inside her beauty salon, leading Max to question her former boyfriend and disgruntled clients as he searches for answers.

The season concludes with “The Petrov Extension,” in which celebrated architect Rowan Jameson is thrown from a hotel balcony. A second murder in Cambridge then points Max and his team towards a possible connection between the two cases.
