Eurovision Song Contest fans are predicting that “zero points” could be heading Britain’s way once more.
BBC One broadcast the second Eurovision Song Contest 2026 semi-final this evening, Thursday, May 14, with 18 nations performing at Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria, battling for their spot in the grand finale.
Taking to the stage tonight was this year’s UK representative, electronic music performer Look Mum No Computer, the performing name of solo musician and well-known YouTuber Sam Battle.
This marked the debut live showing of Look Mum No Computer’s Eurovision entry Eins, Zwei, Drei which means “One, Two, Three” in German.

Sadly for Battle, numerous BBC watchers weren’t particularly taken with his energetic performance.
Taking to X, supporters couldn’t resist posting: “Look Mum No Points again”, playing on the artist’s stage name.

“Is this a joke UK”, another commented followed by a crying emoji.
One fellow watcher repeated: “Last place is officially guaranteed!”, with someone else posting: “They do it on purpose right..? Its not possible to be that level every year.. “
Another viewer remarked: “What a dumpster fire lmfao. BBC didn’t wanna boycot so they decided to send this instead as a boycot for sure”, while a Eurovision enthusiast stated: “Honestly we are so awful, I can’t say sorry enough.”
However, despite the wave of critical remarks, not every viewer was quite so scathing about the UK contestant.
“Look Mum No Computer is gonna be a trip. But god he just LOOKS So British. Excited to see this though”, a fan said.

Another agreed: “UK this year I love it, German title but is is sooo british”, as someone else posted: “Well, Britain doesn’t look like zero points this year! I like it, it looks lively!”
While the bulk of nations in the semi-finals are competing for their spot in this weekend’s grand finale, the UK has already secured automatic qualification for the main spectacle.
This is down to the UK being among the “Big Five”, nations which contribute the most substantial financial backing to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) that stages the competition.
The remaining “Big Five” nations are France, Spain, Italy and Germany, though Spain is boycotting Eurovision this year due to the participation of Israel.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2026 finale airs on Saturday, May 16, at 8pm on BBC One.
