Goldberg, 70, made Hathaway, 43, tear up on the Monday, July 20 episode of The View while talking about The Odyssey. The actress stars as wife Penelope in the movie adaptation of Homer’s classic tale. Her costar Matt Damon, who plays Penelope’s husband Odysseus, and director Christopher Nolan were also in attendance.

Hathaway covered her face for a moment before saying, “No, don’t,” to which the EGOT winner replied, “Yes, you need to know!”

The Devil Wears Prada 2 star, who is expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman, noted that she would have reacted emotionally even if she wasn’t pregnant.

“Well, it’s something you need to know and remember,” Goldberg added.

“I don’t even know what to say, thank you. You know how I feel about you,” she said.

Goldberg also praised Damon, saying, “I have adored you since the first second I met you, at the Oscars.”

She continued, “I know you know my family because they lived around the corner from y’all, and you feel like home. Thank you for always being upright and great, and fabulous in what you do.”

The host then praised the recent release with, “Do yourselves a favor and go see this movie!”

Hathaway recently had another emotional moment when she appeared on the July 16 episode of the Today show.

The actress was gifted a special The Odyssey-inspired baby basket that included a hand-knit Trojan outfit.

“This is so cute,” she said, holding back tears. “Who is talented enough to make all of this?”

The movie star added, “This is appropriately epic. Thank you so much. This is amazing.”
