They Thought the Ocean Was the Biggest Threat… They Were Horribly Wrong. A chilling new Netflix thriller is diving into deep waters this October, and its first trailer is already turning heads. Set in an isolated coastal town, the story follows a father desperately trying to protect his family as terrifying events begin unfolding beneath the surface.

Netflix has debuted the trailer for the upcoming sea creature thriller series Below, starring Josh Hartnett and Charlie Heaton as a father-son duo.

Josh plays a fisherman who is determined to save his family from a sea creature that is terrorizing his hometown. The show was created by The Umbrella Academy writer Jesse McKeown.

Calvin Penney (Hartnett) is a big?hearted but stubborn fisherman living in a small Newfoundland town, who’s still haunted by his father’s mysterious death from decades ago. When an unidentified sea creature begins terrorizing his hometown, Calvin must fight to hold his close-knit community together. Determined to keep his son Wade (Heaton) and the rest of his family safe, he teams up with a visiting marine researcher (Mackenzie Davis) to confront the creature and reveal the island’s buried secrets before it’s too late. Blending local myth, thrilling suspense, and heartfelt humor, this twisty six-part limited series dives into themes of family, community, and change – both terrifying and inevitable.

Also starring in the series are Ruby StokesKaleb HornRohan Campbell, and Willow Kean.

The suspenseful series was shot on location in Newfoundland, Canada.
