The first challenge of Love Island’s summer series has sparked the biggest falling out yet.
A huge rift formed between the boys and girls during last night’s episode (June 11) after they discovered some uncomfortable truths about their partners during the ‘It’s Not That Deep’ game. During the challenge, the Islanders had to match the statement to the person it was about.
However, the boys accused the girls of “hypocrisy” for their reactions to a number of the reveals, notably the relaxed reaction to newcomer Simba having a ‘wandering eye’. Earlier in the series, Ope came under intense scrutiny for admitting the same thing.
While there was chaos aplenty, viewers noticed an awkward background moment that unfolded during an earlier clash between Ope and Simba. The duo came to blows following Simba whisking Angelista away to the terrace where they shared a kiss.

Ope was furious with Angelista when she told him about what had happened, claiming she hadn’t been transparent with him. As he vented to the boys, Simba was quick to jump to Angelista’s defence and claimed Ope had “two girls and now you’ve got none”, before accusing him of “bugging out.”
The heated spat unfolded in full view of the villa, with a number of the boys sat on bean bags between Ope and Simba as they rowed. Fan favourite Sean, a.k.a Fitzy, was among the group, and viewers spied him bursting into laughter at an inappropriate moment.
After Simba said he had a better connection with Angelista and that it was “probably not even a looks thing,” Ope jumped in with: “Of course it’s not bro, I’m f*****g 10/10,” prompting Sean to erupt.

One viewer said: “Fitzy laughing at Ope calling himself 10/10, he is MESSYYYYY.” A second added: “Fitzy laughing in Opes face when he said he’s a 10/10.”
Thankfully Ope and Simba were able to smooth things over before the challenge got underway, even sharing a hug together.
“She’s the girl that I’m interested in. I don’t really want to hear those negative things coming out of people’s mouths addressing her when I kind of understand where her mind is,” Simba said.
Ope replied: “I completely get it. It kind of just felt like she was laughing in my face about it,” as Simba offered up his sympathies, adding: “I’m not here to invalidate how you feel.”
