Who Wants To Be A Millionaire player forced to use lifeline on ‘easy’ £4k sports question – but would you have known it?
A CONTESTANT on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? used a lifeline on an ‘easy’ £4,000 question – but would you get it right?
Jeremy Clarkson hosts the ITV game show where players could walk away with an eye-watering prize.

Olivia Gillespie, from Belfast, sat across from Jeremy in the show’s famous hotseat.
She soon faced an obstacle on the £4,000 question, prompting her to use a lifeline.
Contestants must answer 15 questions correctly to win £1 million – this was the seventh.
It asked: “During competition, which sportspeople wear garments called silks?”
The four possigle options were A) Jockeys, B) Cyclists, C) Gymnasts or D) Wrestlers.
Olivia’s initial hunch was either Jockeys or Cyclists, given both wear “similar coloured shirts.”
Not feeling 100%, she opted to use Ask The Audience to help identify the right answer.
The studio audience overwhelmingly voted for Jockeys, with a total of 87%.
Meanwhile, by comparison, the other three options each got either only 4% or 5%.
Olivia was boosted by the audience’s confidence and locked in Jockeys as her answer.
It turned out to be correct, meaning she ultimately advanced to the next question.
She ended up walking away with £8,000 after getting stumped on a later question.
Earlier this year, it was revealed Jeremy landed a high-pressure Millionaire spin-off.
Filming for the spin-off is set to launch in November, for a 2026 launch.
A TV insider said previously: “This is a massive show of support for Jeremy from ITV who want to keep him with the channel because they recognise the fact he’s still one of telly’s biggest stars.
“Execs see him as having made Millionaire very much his own show, moving it on from its early years under Chris Tarrant.
“Commissioning a new spin-off for him is very much an indication of that too.
“The fact that they will have three different variations of the format airing, indicates that ITV want to carry it on way into the future, and they want Jeremy at the helm of the flagship show.”
