A WHEEL of Fortune contestant has lost out on $40,000 by missing a puzzle that was so obvious that it was gift-wrapped for her – so to speak.

Manisha did quite well on Thursday, only to blank on what even Pat Sajak admitted was the “easiest word.”

The Florida-based baker and stan of ‘80s Wheel of Fortune had a blowout episode with $26,900 and a trip to St. Croix.

“You kind of dominated here,” Pat, 77, told Manisha as he escorted her to the special bonus round.

She selected “What Are You Doing?” as her category and chose a very savvy “PGCA” as her additional letters.

The three-word puzzle was displayed as “_RAPP_NG’ ‘S_ _ E’ ‘G_ _TS’, and the ten-second timer began for her to solve it.

However, she didn’t know it, guessing, “Wrapping…Wrapping Safe gifts? Wrapping Same Gifts?”

The audience fell dead silent, and an “aww!” echoed from the stands as the timer ended and the puzzle displayed in full: “Wrapping Some Gifts.”

Pat and Manisha stood together and he said, “Sometimes the easiest words can be the trickiest.

“You were looking for something a little trickier there, you were darn close,” he added.

‘OUCH’

Pat revealed she lost out on an extra $40,000 and social media users lost their minds because it seemed so glaringly obvious.

“WRAPPING SOME GIFTS!!! how!!???” one X user wrote.

“How does that not become the first thought?? But “Wrapping Safe Gifts” ????” wrote another.

“Wrapping safe gifts 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 #wheeloffortune,” wrote a third.

“Ouch, that $40k was gift-wrapped after some good letter guesses,” wrote a fourth.

“Just when I finally sing the praises of a contestant, they let me down in the Bonus Round. #WheelOfFortune,” wrote a fifth.

MORE PUZZLING FAILS

During Pat’s sendoff season, wrong answers on the beloved game show just keep on spinning.

Recently, a contestant missed the bonus puzzle “BAGELS & D_ _G _ N_TS,” unable to guess “doughnuts,” costing her a BMW.

Another contestant lost by mispronouncing one word of a completed puzzle, but some fans called Pat “cold-blooded” for ruling her wrong.

More humorously, a contestant went viral for her wrong answer: “The British Ogre.“

And in the fall, NFL star Rashad Jennings went viral for thinking director Quentin Tarantino was “Puentin” Tarantino.

Of course, the season’s biggest Wheel moment was the infamous Pink Orchid bonus round miss, with the nation claiming Megan was “robbed” and said the bonus puzzle correctly.

Megan went on GMA to respond to the controversy and let fans know she did not, in fact, say “Pink Orchid.”

PAT’S WRAPPED FILMING

Meanwhile, Pat has not only set his last day as host but taped his farewell episode, The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal.

He will bid farewell to the masses at the end of Season 41 on Friday, June 7, 2024.

But a rep for Wheel of Fortune exclusively confirmed to The U.S. Sun that Pat has filmed his last slate of six episodes on April 5, 2024.

This includes his final episode, fittingly titled “Thanks For The Memories,” and is already filmed, the show exclusively shared.

That means Pat is done hosting the show and the episodes fans are seeing come as he’s already retired.

The episode will be a TV milestone as the host has doled out puzzles and prizes alongside Vanna White, 66, since 1981 and 1982 respectively.

The show did not share if Pat’s farewell episode will be an all-out tribute with memories from over the years or simply a normal game ending with him saying goodbye.

Tickets for Pat’s penultimate five episodes were opened to the public at the last minute, while his farewell episode was reportedly not open to the public and was invite only.

Pat announced in spring of 2023 that he’d be leaving the iconic game show and that Season 41 would be his last.

Shortly after, Ryan Seacrest announced on Instagram that he would replace Pat as the new host come fall 2024.

The show airs weekdays at 7:30 pm ET on ABC, so fans can catch his sendoff on June 7 at that time.
