Fan girl down! A Wheel of Fortune superfan missed out on taking home $71,000 after losing the Bonus Round puzzle. She couldn’t solve a garden-related puzzle since she “doesn’t have a green thumb.”

Maneka Hodges, from Lilburn, Georgia, solved both toss-ups on May 18, giving her $3,000. She is a former public school education teacher and now runs her own tutoring company.

She played against Katie Pasielski, from Gainesville, Virginia, and Tom Durnil, from Argenta, Illinois. Hodges solved the “Most Likely To” puzzle — “Make The First Move” — for $2,400, giving her $5,400. She put $6,400 in her bank when she solved “Mumbo Jumbo Eggs.”

Durnil, an arm wrestling champion, landed on the Express Wedge in the next round, but called a “T,” which wasn’t in the puzzle, and went Bankrupt. Hodges solved most of the puzzle before she landed on “Lose a Turn.”

After guessing two letters. Pasielski, a woman who is an avid lifelong fan who forces people to watch Wheel of Fortune, including her boyfriend, guessed two letters before solving “A Delicious Rum Punch.” She won a trip to the Bahamas and took the lead with $7,495.

Durnil finally got on the board with $2,000 when he solved one of the three Triple Toss-ups. Both Pasielski and Hodges solved one of the other two.

Pasielski gained $6,800 when she solved the final puzzle — “Hidden Fees.” This secured her win with $16,295. Hodges had $8,400. Durnil went home with $2,000.

Pasielski chose “What Are You Doing?” for her Bonus Round category. She brought her dad, Chris, who has watched WOF since the 80s, with her.

Wheel of Fortune gave the game show contestant “R,S,T,L,N, and E.” She chose “D,C,M, and O.” The puzzle then looked like “M_LC_ _N_  O_R   _ _CDEN.”

As the clock counted down, Pasielski mumurmed some words like “Our Burden,” but couldn’t figure out “Mulching Our Garden.” There was $55,000 in the envelope, which would have given her $71,295.

“I don’t have a green thumb,” Pasielski said.

“Thanks for watching all these years,” host Ryan Seacrest said.

“Oh, my God! I’m your number one fan,” the contestant replied.

“Chris, you did a good job with her!” Seacrest told her dad.
