The Bennet family is completed by Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet, Rhea Norwood as Lydia, Hopey Parish as Mary and Hollie Avery as Kitty.

Other cast members include Anjana Vasan as Mrs. Gardiner, Sebastian Armesto as Mr. Gardiner, Rosie Cavaliero as Lady Lucas, Saffron Coomber as Mrs. Hurst, James Dryden as Mr. Hurst and Justin Edwards as Sir William Lucas.

The lineup also includes James Northcote as Colonel Forster, Eloise Webb as Harriet Forster and Isabella Sermon as Georgiana Darcy.

A Fresh Take on Jane Austen’s Classic

Jack Lowden stars as the brooding Mr Darcy

The new series comes from bestselling author and screenwriter Dolly Alderton and Heartstopper director Euros Lyn. The six episodes are designed to remain close to Austen’s original 1813 novel while introducing fresh creative choices of their own.

At the center of the story are the five Bennet sisters, whose futures become increasingly complicated when wealthy eligible men enter their lives. Jane falls for the charming Mr. Bingley, while Elizabeth finds herself repeatedly at odds with his proud friend, Mr. Darcy.

As unexpected encounters and family scandals unfold, Elizabeth is forced to reconsider her assumptions about Darcy — and her own feelings.

Netflix describes the series as a British period drama built around romance, sharp dialogue and the familiar enemies-to-lovers dynamic at the heart of Austen’s novel.

Olivia Colman takes on the role of Mrs Bennet

Alderton said she feels fortunate to be part of the latest generation given the opportunity to revisit Austen’s story.

She described Pride and Prejudice as a foundational romantic comedy and said adapting it allowed her to explore both familiar and new ways of bringing the novel to life.

For Alderton, the appeal of the original lies not only in its romance, but also in its combination of drama, comedy and social observation. She highlighted the story’s exploration of love, family, friendship and society, while aiming to retain Austen’s distinctive wit and perspective.

With Lyn directing the ensemble, Alderton said she hopes the series will introduce the characters to longtime Austen fans as well as viewers discovering Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy for the first time.

Corrin has also spoken enthusiastically about stepping into the role of Elizabeth, calling it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and expressing excitement about bringing the character to a new generation alongside Colman and Lowden.
