Mother of 14-year-old boy who brutally stomped teen girl speaks to reporters

A 15-year-old girl viciously slammed to the ground and stomped on by a teenage boy faced weeks of harassment before the disturbing, caught-on-video attack — which could have killed her, according to her horrified mother.

Mom Lucinda Arroyo told The Post that the 14-year-old bully – who has since been jailed on assault charges – goes to school with her daughter and had long been bugging her for attention, leaving the girl stunned when the harassment turned violent Monday.

“She’s very upset that her whole life has been completely flipped upside down right now,” the devastated mom said in an interview from her East Harlem home on Thursday.

“This is not even bullying, this is outright assault — and he could have killed her,” she raged.

The street beatdown in the Upper Manhattan neighborhood left the girl with a concussion, bleeding, a potential brain injury, crushing headaches and a twisted neck – injuries that will require ongoing physical therapy, Arroyo said.

Her daughter has repeatedly been sent the sickening footage of her attack since, and feels “very exposed right now,” her mom said.

“She was very angry at why he escalated so quickly from one thing to another. And you can tell [in the video] she just wanted to walk away from him because he’s bad news. She’s known him as someone who’s bad news for a while.”

The ninth-grade student-athlete at East Harlem Scholars Academy Charter School was heading to squash practice when the shocking incident occurred, her mom said.

Disturbing video spreading on social media showed the masked brute confronting the girl at East 107th Street and Third Avenue around 3:30 p.m., just after school let out.

The boy is seen repeatedly blocking her in the crosswalk and threatening to “knock the s–t out of” her as a friend appears to egg him on from behind the camera.

As she turned to walk away, she called him a “p—y” and told him to “get the f–k” away from her, before he grabbed her from behind, lifted her up and slammed her to the pavement.

The tense clips showed the girl lying helpless on the ground as the boy stomped on her head before walking off.

“He just ran off and everybody’s just recording, and everybody’s just looking while this was happening to her,” Arroyo said of the video.

“The video was passed around like entertainment, and that pissed me off the most. She’s ignoring him, so he basically forced her to pay attention to him. And his friends are laughing after that. It’s not just one bully, but community bullying.”

While a motive remains unclear, sources said the girl was attacked after she refused to give the suspected goon – “a known troublemaker” at school – her phone number.

“She’s not going back to that school… that school can’t keep her safe,” the distraught mom said.

Arroyo said her daughter woke up in the ambulance after the violent assault and couldn’t believe what had just unfolded – even after watching footage of the nightmarish incident.

The girl was hospitalized for two days and is only now able to walk and eat again.

“I look at her and it’s a miracle that she’s home. I’m always watching her now, I have to watch her.”

Arroyo claimed school officials were aware that the hooligan “has been a problem.” But she said the boy’s alleged harassment of her daughter, which left the girl stressed and anxious, was never reported to the school because they didn’t think it would ever turn violent.“You don’t think that something like this would happen,” Arroyo said, noting that the alleged assailant behind bars has helped both her and her daughter relax.

The twisted teen was charged with assault and appeared in the Youth Part of Manhattan court Thursday afternoon — but the judge barred The Post and other press from the courtroom.

The suspect was remanded into custody after the hearing. His mom, Selma Allen, claimed it was actually the victim had bullied her son at school and described him as a “humble” Christian.

“She was being a bully to him, that’s it,” Allen told The Post after her son’s court appearance.

“He’s been complaining about her. I bring it to the principal’s attention but he don’t address it. The way my son is being bullied, he doesn’t want to go to school.”

Allen also denied her son was trying to score the girl’s number. She said they are friends who regularly swap messages on Instagram and WhatsApp.

She called the teen a “quiet” boy who “doesn’t provoke nobody,” claiming the victim shoved him just moments before the harrowing video started.

“It’s retaliation because she pushed him first,” Allen claimed, while failing to cough up additional footage she claimed she had of the victim pushing her son.

“He don’t provoke nobody. But if you provoke him, he will lash out.”

The school didn’t immediately return a request for comment.
