Maybe it’s a father’s intuition? A The Price Is Right contestant ignored his pregnant wife and wound up winning a car.

Kyle Norton, a future girl dad, whose wife is called Amanda, won the sixth item up for bid on June 4. The video was posted to the game show‘s Instagram on June 23.

He bid $1,151 on three pairs of Apple AirPods Max and cases. The actual price was $1,673. Since he had the highest bid, he got to play 5 Price Tags for a Subaru Impreza Sport.

The way 5 Price Tags works is a contestant answers whether the price shown on the front of an item is true or false. If they get all four right, they have the chance to choose up to four price tags. There are five in total with different amounts, and only one has the correct price. If they guess the correct price, they win the car.

The first item was a microwaveable heating pad listed at $26. Norton said it was true and was right, so he gained one pick. The next was a Sharp Pebble dual grip sharpener, listed at $80. Norton said it was false and was correct since it was $50, earning a second tag.

The third item was a pocket-sized fidget toy for $48. That was the correct price, so he didn’t earn another tag. For the final item, a wood-carving tool, Norton said that the $299 price was true. He was right, so Norton earned a third pick.

Norton turned to his wife, who held up six fingers. “My wife says $26,000,” he said.

“You better go with your pregnant wife,” host Drew Carey said. $26,380 was not the correct price, but that’s ok because he had two more chances to get it right.

The game show contestant then thought about the next choice after his wife held up five fingers. He chose $27,530 instead. However, it was better that he went with his gut because that was the right price.

“Brand new car. Room for the new kid. Congratulations,” Carey said.

“Nice present to give to the Dad to upgrade his ride for his daughter,” an Instagram user said.

“Never trust your wife. Trust your own instincts,” a fan joked.

“That was great,” a third said.

Norton did not advance to the Showcase after spinning an .80 on the wheel. His opponent, Arn, advanced when they spun a .90.
