Brendan Coulter Breaks His Silence After ‘The Voice’ Elimination Sparks Backlash — Carly Pearce Sends Him a Heartfelt Message
Brendan Coulter may have been eliminated from The Voice Season 30, but his journey is far from over. After coach Riley Green chose Keiyana Osmond over him in the Battle Rounds, the decision sparked disappointment among viewers who believed Coulter deserved to advance. Now, the Ohio singer has spoken out about his experience, sharing an emotional message of gratitude — and receiving an encouraging response from Battle Advisor Carly Pearce.
Brendan Coulter Reflects on the Long Road to ‘The Voice’
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Coulter revealed that his journey toward the NBC singing competition began years before he finally got the chance to perform on its stage.
His first experience with the show came in the summer of 2023, when he travelled to Los Angeles during Season 25. Although he made friends and grew as an artist during that time, his opportunity to audition never materialised because all the teams had already filled their spots.

Rather than abandon his ambition, Coulter kept pursuing his dream. Several years later, he finally stepped onto the stage he had been hoping to reach.
“I FINALLY stepped onto that stage. It was everything I had dreamed it would be. Exhilarating, nerve-racking, fun, and so surreal,” he wrote.
Although his time in the competition ended earlier than he had hoped, Coulter made it clear that he appreciated the opportunity and everything he had learned along the way.
He thanked The Voice and Green for giving him the chance to compete, while also acknowledging Pearce’s guidance as a Battle Advisor. According to Coulter, the experience helped him grow not only as a musician but also as a person.
A Message of Support for Keiyana Osmond

Coulter also made a point of celebrating his Battle partner, Osmond, despite the disappointment of losing their head-to-head matchup.
“Thanks to @keiyanaosmond for being an amazing battle partner. Can’t wait to watch you kill it during Cut Week!” he wrote.
His message showed that he remained supportive of Osmond as she continued in the competition, even as viewers debated whether Green had made the right choice.
Coulter also expressed appreciation for the fans who had supported his music long before his television appearance. Reflecting on how far he had come, he shared a particularly personal thought: “I think little me would be so proud.”
He closed the post by thanking Jesus, his wife, Anna Hertel, and his family for standing beside him throughout the journey. Coulter described Anna as his “rock” and recognised the encouragement that had helped him continue pursuing his ambitions.
He also hinted that he has more music on the way, writing: “Stay tuned. Lots of music coming soon 😏”
The announcement gave supporters a reason to look forward to his next chapter, even as frustration over his elimination continued online.
Why Riley Green’s Battle Decision Divided Viewers
The controversy followed Coulter and Osmond’s performance of Maroon 5’s “She Will Be Loved” during the Battle Rounds on Team Riley.
The song carried personal significance for Coulter. During rehearsals, he revealed that it was the first song he had ever sung, adding an extra layer of meaning to the performance.
Green praised Coulter’s falsetto, while Pearce highlighted Osmond’s tone and distinctive style. The performance also caught the attention of Adam Levine, who co-wrote the Maroon 5 hit and praised both singers for taking on the challenging song.
Ultimately, Green selected Osmond, explaining that her unique style helped her stand out. None of the other coaches used a steal to keep Coulter in the competition, bringing his journey to an end.
The decision quickly drew criticism from viewers who felt Coulter had delivered the stronger performance.
“Brendan clearly won that battle! He was robbed!” one fan wrote.

Another viewer recalled believing Coulter had the potential to win the entire competition and said they were surprised by the outcome, particularly because no coach stepped in to steal him.
Others continued to voice their support, with one fan declaring: “You won that battle hands down for me!”
While the reactions reflected widespread disappointment among some viewers, Green’s decision ultimately meant that Osmond would be the contestant moving forward.
Carly Pearce Shares an Encouraging Message

Among the responses to Coulter’s Instagram post was a supportive comment from Pearce, who had worked with the contestants as their Battle Advisor.
“Your voice is so special!!! Can’t wait to see where it takes you 👏” she wrote.
The message offered encouragement as Coulter looked beyond his elimination and toward future opportunities. His wife also shared her pride in his achievements, adding to the support he received from those closest to him.
Although some fans continue to question Green’s choice, Coulter’s response suggests he is focusing on the positive aspects of his experience: the chance to perform on a major stage, the people he met and the growth he gained throughout the competition.
After waiting years for his opportunity to appear on The Voice, he finally achieved that goal and introduced his voice to a much wider audience.
And with new music on the horizon, Coulter has made one thing clear: his journey is continuing well beyond the Battle Rounds.
