Craig, 46, announced on Tuesday that he’s launching a podcast.

He unveiled the exciting and unexpected new project, a show called Glass Half Full, during the Today broadcast.

According to Craig, his podcast is recorded in his bourbon bar, located inside his sprawling Connecticut home.

Each week, he will invite a celebrity on Glass Half Full for intimate conversations over adult libations.

He said he hopes the result is a conversation that “feels like catching up with an old friend.”

“We have a lot in common collectively but then you get to a point where you forget the camera is on,” he said.

“It’s like you’re just having a conversation with a friend.

“We try to peel back the layers and reveal more.”

Craig also discussed his reasoning for getting into podcasting, saying on Today that he feels there’s a large audience that’s eager to connect “through storytelling, through laughter, through tears and this is the perfect medium for that.”

The beloved Today Show anchor said that while he loves the TV show and a massive audience, there’s something special about getting extended time alone with someone to just chat.

As for his drink of choice, Craig revealed that he’ll be sipping bourbon most episodes.

“By the way, that was part of the motivation,” he shared with his Today co-anchors.

“About 15 minutes after a few sips I’m like, oh, a new conversation started.”

The first episode of Glass Half Full was released on Tuesday.

It featured basketball star Shaquille O’Neal.

Craig will also be chatting with other A-listers, including Regina Hall, Shonda Rimes, and Carmelo Anthony.
