A familiar face thought to be gone for good is heading back to Slow Horses. Apple TV has confirmed that Olivia Cooke will reprise her role as Sid Baker in season six, with the newly released trailer revealing River’s stunned reaction when he unexpectedly sees her again.
Cooke’s return adds another major twist to a season already promising to put Jackson Lamb and his dysfunctional team of MI5 agents under extraordinary pressure. The espionage thriller, led by Gary Oldman, returns on Wednesday, September 16, with the Slow Horses becoming targets themselves as two mysterious attackers begin hunting them down.
Sid Baker’s return finally confirmed
Sid Baker was a major character during the first season, but her fate has remained uncertain ever since she was shot in the head.
Although she appeared to have been killed, the series subsequently planted an important clue when Roddy Ho discovered that Sid’s records had mysteriously disappeared. That development left open the possibility that she had survived.
Season six now provides the answer.
The new trailer confirms Cooke’s comeback in its closing moments, when River encounters Sid standing at the top of a staircase and is visibly shocked to see her.

Season six draws from Joe Country and Slough House, the sixth and seventh novels in Mick Herron’s CWA Gold Dagger Award-winning book series.
This time, the agents of Slough House are no longer simply chasing threats. They find themselves in danger after becoming targets of two assailants, played by MyAnna Buring and Kyle Soller.
Jackson Lamb becomes determined to understand why members of his team are apparently being killed one after another.
According to the official synopsis, the Slow Horses are forced onto the run after MI5’s Diana Taverner pulls them into a “fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.”
The story will also continue developments established during season five.
Christopher Chung, who plays technology expert Roddy Ho, previously teased that there would be considerable crossover between the two seasons, particularly following Taverner’s rise to First Desk.
Gary Oldman returns as Jackson Lamb
Gary Oldman once again leads the cast as Jackson Lamb, the abrasive but formidable head of Slough House.
Kristin Scott Thomas returns as Diana Taverner, while Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards and Rosalind Eleazar are also back.
The returning ensemble additionally includes Joanna Scanlan, Samuel West, Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke, Jonathan Pryce and Hugo Weaving.
BAFTA winner Lenny Rush joins the cast for the new season, while Olivia Cooke’s return as Sid Baker provides one of its biggest surprises.
