“31 WINS LATER… WHY ARE JEOPARDY! FANS STILL NOT OVER JAMIE DING?” Months after his incredible run ended, Jamie Ding is somehow trending with fans all over again. After Jeopardy! shared his now-iconic orange looks, viewers instantly flooded the comments with the same emotional reaction: “We miss Jamie.” But what’s surprising is that fans don’t seem attached only to the numbers — not the 31 wins, not the nearly $900K, not even his place among the legends. There was something about Jamie’s quiet charm, humility, and unexpectedly personal story that made audiences connect in a way they rarely do. And now many viewers are asking the same question: why does Jeopardy! still feel a little different without him?

Jamie Ding‘s run might be over on Jeopardy!, but he is still living in fans’ hearts and many have gone online to say how much they miss him. The game show shared some of the super champ’s iconic orange looks, and fans all said the same thing about him.

Jeopardy!, along with Ding’s alma mater, Princeton University, shared all of the orange looks he wore on the show. He revealed that orange is his favorite color and tried to wear some sort of orange on every episode that he was on.

“What’s with the orange?” host Ken Jennings asked him a few games in.

“My parents grew up in communist China. You didn’t get to make choices there,” Ding replied. “So, my mom has never had a favorite color. When my neighbor asked me, ‘What’s your favorite color?’ She didn’t expect me to have one, but I said, ‘Orange!’”

“Since then, my childhood bedroom, I made them paint it orange, every knick-knack. Since I got a disposable income, I’ve started buying orange things because I can. I rarely regret buying something just because it’s orange, but there’s a couch that I got from Amazon that was $80 that’s pretty bad. Maybe they make decent orange couches.”

The law student and self-styled bureaucrat won 31 games and a total of $885,605, securing himself on the Leaderboard of Legends. But his reign came to an end on April 27 when he was defeated by Greg Shahade.

“Looking for some fit inspo for #PrincetonReunions? Look no further than the king of spring, Jamie Ding. Here’s every orange shirt @thejamieding ’13 wore during his historic run on @Jeopardy!,” the Instagram post was captioned.

“Orange really is his color,” Jeopardy! replied.

Most of the fans said that they “miss him.” “Still not over Jamie,” one fan said.

“The absolute best champion! So smart, so humble, and just an all-around wonderful vibe. You’re missed on Jeopardy!, Jamie,” another wrote.

“Miss this dude on my TV so much!” a third added.

“Jamie, your humility, your integrity, and your sheer intellect are missed!” a fan added.

“I really miss him,” one fan said.

“I really miss Jamie, he’s so humble and kind,” an Instagram user said.

“Jamie, we miss you,” a fan commented.

“I miss seeing him on the show,” one last fan said.

After Ding’s reign, Shahde, a chess master, won three games, and then there was a slew of one-game champions. In walked Tristan Williams, who just won his tenth game. How long will his reign last? Will he become the next Jamie Ding?
