Ella Langley Appears to Take Swipe at Riley Green Over His Comments About Her Success: ‘Typical’

Ella Langley appears to have taken a swipe at former collaborator Riley Green after fans accused him of taking credit for her success during an appearance on The Voice.
The country singer, 27, seemingly addressed the controversy during an Instagram Live on Thursday, October 8, after a viewer asked whether Green’s comments about her career had rubbed her the wrong way.
“When Riley took credit for your success on the voice, did that rub you the wrong way?!” the fan asked.
Langley initially appeared to ignore the question while getting her makeup done, but later responded without mentioning Green by name.
“Yeah, when that man took credit, no, didn’t love that. But typical,” she said, before repeating, “Typical. Pretty typical.”

The apparent dig came after Green, 37, referenced Langley while trying to persuade sisters Ferryn and Brinkley Wright to join his team on NBC’s The Voice in September.
“I’ve had some success with duets,” he said, before comparing the contestants to his former touring partner.
“There was a girl that reminded me a lot of y’all. I took her on tour with me. Her name’s Ella Langley. She’s doing pretty well.”
While some viewers interpreted Green’s remarks as him taking credit for Langley’s rise to fame, others defended the singer, suggesting he was simply acknowledging their professional history and praising her success.
The pair previously collaborated on the hit songs “You Look Like You Love Me” and “Don’t Mind If I Do,” with Langley also joining Green on tour.
However, fans have since noticed another possible sign of tension between the former collaborators.
According to Us Weekly, Langley no longer follows Green on Instagram, although he was still following her as of Monday, October 12.

Their relationship has long sparked speculation among country music fans, particularly after their chemistry in the music video for “You Look Like You Love Me” fueled romance rumors.
Both musicians previously denied dating, with Langley telling Taste of Country in September 2024, “We’re not dating. We’re just good friends.”
Green also joked about the speculation during a December 2024 appearance on The Viall Files podcast. “Ella’s probably too smart to date me anyway,” he said.
Meanwhile, TMZ confirmed in September that Langley has been quietly dating fellow country singer Tucker Wetmore for several months.
