Robson Green has dropped a major update about his upcoming BBC crime drama, teasing “watch this space”.
The Grantchester star is taking on a new role in a detective show set in north-east England.
The Northumbria Mysteries will follow the DI Geordie Keating actor as jack-of-all trades Joe Ruby, as he investigates a series of crimes in Northumberland.
His character forms an unlikely crime solving duo with DI Rose O’Connell (Liz White) as the pair combine their talents to unravel compelling crime mysteries.

Sharing an update on social media, Robson posted an image of a clapperboard, confirming filming had wrapped up.
He was supported by fans as he called it “one of the most joyous filming experiences of my career”.
Robson said: “That’s a WIND REEL AND PRINT (WRAP) on The Northumbria Mysteries.
“One of the most Joyous filming experiences of my career. What a story what a team! Transmission TBC.
“A series for all the family set against the magical and jaw dropping backdrop of Northumberland. Watch this space.”
Fans rushed to share their excitement, with one saying: “I’m looking forward to this coming out. In the meantime we have the last series of Grantchester to look forward to.”
Another wrote: “This is going to be a good one looking forward to seeing it.”
As another echoed “can’t wait”, someone else said: “Can’t wait for this, my nan was born and raised in Northumberland so when I watch I will be thinking of her plus I love everything you are in so super excited for this.”
A fifth wrote: “My fellow Grantchester ladies (and gentlemen) on Facebook will be chuffed to bits about this news!”
Robson, who was raised in the North East, previously said he was “happy to be working” in a place he was still “very proud to call home”.
Speaking about the upcoming series, he added to the BBC: “Set against this amazing backdrop, you have this really unusual, likeable and oddball pairing, who slowly realise they have a connection.”
