HIT ITV quiz The 1% Club is moving South — as host Lee Mack was sick of his 400 mile-round commute to film in the North.
The comedian has spent five series driving from his home in Surrey to Salford.
Bosses offered Lee, 57, a helicopter to take him to the studio but the star is afraid of flying.
The quiz, a test of IQ and lateral thinking, will now be filmed at Elstree Studios, Herts.
A source said: “The travelling up North was beginning to be a bit much for Lee.
“Especially as he’s based down South.

“Fortunately, ITV was able to find a new location, which is just a one-hour drive from his home.
“Lee has a well-documented fear of flying so the idea that he would chopper to and from work is untenable.”
Lee has hosted the award-winning show since 2022.
He has previously spoken of how he’ll drive to join his family on holiday in Europe rather than fly.
A spokesman for production firm Magnum Media said: “We’ve decided to base the next series in a new location.
“There are always a range of factors involved when a television production changes their filming venue.”
