Angela Black, which stars Downton Abbey’s Joanne Froggatt, was first released in 2021 and is available to stream on ITVX.
Described as a “gripping thriller” with “so many twists and turns”, the series follows suburban mum Angela (Joanne), whose seemingly perfect life is turned upside down after a meeting with a mysterious man.
“Angela Black’s life appears idyllic: a lovely house in suburban London, days working as a volunteer at the dogs home, two wonderful sons and a charismatic, hard-working husband, Olivier (Michiel Huisman). However, beneath this façade of charmed domesticity, Angela is also the victim of domestic abuse,” said a synopsis.

The series has been a huge hit with viewers, with one calling it “spellbinding” on review site Rotten Tomatoes and another posting: “I cannot stop watching this series. It’s captivating and has been a great several evenings of TV.”
