Cade Mower Sparks an Instant Four-Chair Turn on The Voice in Under 10 Seconds
Cade Mower barely had time to settle into his performance on The Voice before all four coaches were competing for his attention.
In an exclusive clip shared with TheWrap, the country singer took the stage during the Blind Auditions to perform Zach Bryan’s “Something in the Orange.” Within seconds, Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah and Riley Green had all turned their chairs, giving Mower a four-chair turn before he had even finished his second line.
The moment moved so quickly that Levine needed only about three seconds of Mower’s opening line before hitting his button.
Clarkson and Queen Latifah followed almost immediately. Green was the final coach to turn, but even he made his move while Mower was still singing his second line.
The speed of the coaches’ reactions made the audition stand out before Mower had even reached the end of the song.
By the time the performance concluded, Levine was on his feet applauding. Queen Latifah also made her reaction clear.
“Yup, you did that,” she said as she applauded Mower.
Adam Levine Makes His Case First
Levine was clearly pleased that he had been the first coach to turn around, although he admitted the margin was extremely close.
“Listen, I’m proud of you, I’m proud of me, because I turned around first,” Levine told Mower.
He explained that he had “just barely” beaten Clarkson to the button before turning the conversation toward why Mower should choose him as his coach.
Levine pointed to his success with his artist the previous season, despite the fact that their voices did not sound alike.
“Sometimes an unlikely pairing goes far,” he said.
Clarkson acknowledged Levine’s aggressive pitch from across the stage.
“Adam’s working hard down there,” she remarked.
Queen Latifah Tells Cade Mower He Can Take the Whole Thing
Queen Latifah quickly built on Levine’s argument about an unexpected coach-artist pairing, suggesting that she and Mower could make an equally surprising combination.
“Talk about an unlikely pairing — that would be me and you, Cade. That would be me and you, baby,” she said.
She then explained just how strongly Mower’s performance had affected her.
“Not to call you baby, but you got me so excited,” Queen Latifah continued. “You started making me make ugly faces … you can take this whole thing.”
Her pitch added another layer to an already crowded coaching battle, with all four chairs turned before Mower had even finished his audition.
Riley Green Leans Into Their Country Connection
Green took a different approach when making his case. As a fellow country artist, he focused on the possibility of working together on the road.
He even put on his cowboy hat for emphasis as he described imagining Mower joining him on tour.
“I was just thinking about my next tour … I was picturing Cade coming out there with an acoustic guitar,” Green said.
Levine immediately responded with a bigger vision.
“I think of it more like maybe come on an international tour,” he joked.
The exchange reflected how quickly the coaches had shifted from simply reacting to Mower’s audition to imagining what a partnership with him could look like.
Kelly Clarkson Points to Her Competition Experience
Clarkson also made her pitch, emphasizing her experience working with singers from different musical backgrounds and genres.
“I just know how to navigate a competition well,” she said.
That left Mower with four coaches making their cases after an audition that took only seconds to turn the room around.
Mower is a country artist from Bluffdale, Utah, who is now based in Nashville. Before appearing on Season 30 of The Voice, he had already released music including the 2024 EP Firehouse Sessions Live, the 12-song 2025 album Soul Work, and singles including “Blissful Misery.”
The Voice returned for Season 30 on September 21, 2026, with Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah and Riley Green serving as the coaching quartet.
For Mower, the Blind Audition began with a single song and ended with all four coaches fighting for the chance to work with him.
