Anyone counting down the days until Line of Duty returns for its seventh season may have found the perfect crime drama to fill the gap.
Six-part thriller Hit Point has been winning enthusiastic reactions from viewers, with fans describing the series as “fantastic” and praising its relentless twists, compelling performances and high-stakes journey into London’s criminal underworld.
The drama follows two police officers in their thirties whose latest investigation quickly becomes far more complicated than a conventional case. With crime, secrets and an unexpected romance colliding, the boundaries between their professional and personal lives begin to disappear.
Behind the series are BAFTA-winning Misfits writer Howard Overman and director David Caffrey, whose credits include The Gentlemen and Peaky Blinders.
Viewers Say Hit Point Had Them ‘Hooked’

For some viewers, six episodes were not enough.
“Binge watched it all….so, so good! Lots of twists. Loved it,” one fan wrote on social media.
Another praised the show for succeeding without relying on a cast packed with household names.
“#HitPoint on @davechannel is SO good! No big name stars but great acting & writing,” the viewer wrote, singling out Saffron Hocking as “such a charismatic lead” before calling for more shows like it.
Another fan admitted the series completely pulled them in.
“Finished #HitPoint and it floored me, oh I was hooked HOOKED!!” they wrote.
They also praised the chemistry between Bella and Leo and how their relationship affects Leo’s criminal operations, adding: “And I need S2, I need it.”
“Thoroughly enjoyed Hit Point. Absolutely fantastic,” another viewer declared.
What Is Hit Point About?

At the center of the story are detective partners Leo, played by Nick Blood, and Bella, portrayed by Saffron Hocking.
Their latest investigation begins with an audacious crime: three men wearing animal masks intercept a Range Rover transporting £10 million in cash.
Leo and Bella are assigned to uncover what happened, but their search for answers soon pulls them deeper into a dangerous criminal world.
Complicating matters further is the developing relationship between the two detectives. Their will-they-won’t-they dynamic begins to blur the distinction between work and their personal lives as the stakes surrounding the case continue to rise.
The official synopsis deliberately raises another intriguing possibility: perhaps viewers should not automatically be rooting for the police to catch those responsible.
“The question is: do we actually want them to catch the criminals? All is not as it seems,” it teases.
The series combines its central mystery with action and humor as loyalties shift and secrets begin emerging.
“Packed with razor-sharp humour, and heart-stopping action, Hit Point is a gripping, fast-paced series where loyalty is tested, secrets explode, and love might just be the most dangerous game of all,” the synopsis reads.
Who Stars in Hit Point?

Nick Blood leads the cast as Leo after appearances in The Day of the Jackal and Slow Horses.
Opposite him is Saffron Hocking as Bella, whose previous credits include Top Boy and The Devil’s Hour.
Peter Serafinowicz, known for The Gentlemen, plays former police officer Carter, while Emily in Paris actor William Abadie takes on the role of threatening crime boss Pascal Dubois.
The supporting cast also includes Brendan Coyle (Toxic Town), Nadia Parkes (Kidnapped: The Chloe Ayling Story), Moe Bar-El (Alien: Earth), Ossian Perret (The Last Kingdom) and Joshua Sher (The Undeclared War).
With only six episodes, a £10 million crime at the center of the story and viewers already demanding another season, Hit Point offers a compact crime binge for audiences looking for another tense police drama.
