The death of 21-year-old Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas has shocked people across Brazil after reports claimed she was pushed from a bridge during a bungee jumping event without being attached to a safety cord.
The tragic incident reportedly happened in Limeira, in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, during a recreational jump organized at a location known locally as the “Skeleton Bridge.” According to witnesses and local reports, Maria Eduarda fell nearly 130 feet into a ravine after event staff allegedly failed to secure her to the required safety equipment before pushing her from the platform.
Videos shared online following the incident quickly spread across social media, intensifying public outrage and disbelief. In the footage, two men appear to guide Maria Eduarda toward the edge of the bridge before she is pushed forward. Moments later, bystanders can reportedly be heard screaming that she was not attached to a rope.
