Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are opening up about the ambitious mission to bring All My Children back to life, sharing new details that longtime fans have been waiting years to hear. The beloved television couple revealed how the revival project came together, the challenges they’ve faced behind the scenes, and why they’re determined to honor the show’s legendary legacy. Their latest update is reigniting excitement among soap opera fans, who are now wondering whether the iconic series is finally one step closer to returning.

Before there was Live With Kelly and Mark, there was Pine, the fictional Pennsylvania town where fans could find Hayley Vaughn and Mateo Santos, the All My Children lovebirds played by Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos before they ever thought of hosting a daily morning talk show. Now, Ripa and Consuelos, who met on the soap’s set in 1995, are determined to bring All My Children back to its legion of devoted fans.

All My Children Gets Another Shot at Life

Airing from 1970 until 2011 on ABC, All My Children got a second shot at daily soap life during the early days of streaming in 2013, when The OnLine Network streamed new episodes for a brief few months.

Although General Hospital fans got a taste of Pine Valley in 2023 when Walt Willey brought Jackson Montgomery to Port Charles, fans of the defunct soap have been longing to see their favorite All My Children characters, something Ripa and Consuelos plan to make happen with a series of All My Children movies on Lifetime. The movies will be set in the present day and will feature some of the soap’s most famous characters, including Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) and Maria Santos (Eva LaRue).

Produced by the couple’s Milojo Productions, Ripa and Consuelos received inspiration for the reboot in 2025, after a live event at New York City’s famous 92nd Street Y, where fans shared an evening with Ripa, Lucci, and former producer Judy Blye Wilson. Seeing how much enthusiasm for the soap still existed, the couple knew their idea to make All My Children a reality again was meant to be.

“I’ve never seen a crowd like that in my life,” Consuelos said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. “People were lined up around the block. Everyone wanted to know, ‘When is [‘All My Children’] coming back? We want more.’ … I just know that the minute it gets out in the world, people will want more and more and more. There’s just a love there”

Consuelos said he estimates that at least half their talk show audience is made up of All My Children fans and Ripa said that she is amazed at how many people she runs into who are named for her and her husband’s soap opera characters.

“That’s when I realized how long ago I was on All My Children,'” she said. “Because I’m meeting adult women who are named after my character. It’s wild to me.”
