What He’s Doing Next Has Fans Stunned! A jaw-dropping career twist for Carson Daly!

Carson Daly is taking on a major new role at NBC, adding another responsibility to his already busy television schedule.

The longtime Today host has been named co-anchor of Saturday Today, where he will work alongside Laura Jarrett, feature anchor Joe Fryer, and meteorologist Angie Lassman. His official debut will mark an expansion of his current weekday role.

“I’m thrilled to add ‘Saturday Today’ to my weekday morning schedule,” Daly said in a statement. He also shared a funny reaction from his children, who wanted to know whether he would still make pancakes. “I told them yes, but I’ll be making them for Laura, Joe and Angie instead.”

Daly, 53, will continue appearing on Today during the week while joining the Saturday morning team. Libby Leist, executive vice president of Today and Lifestyle, praised the addition, saying Carson had been an important part of the show’s family for 13 years.

Speaking about the new opportunity during Jenna Bush Hager’s Morning Boost segment on Thursday, Daly said the role was especially meaningful at this stage of his career. He also expressed excitement about working more closely with Laura and improving as a broadcaster.

Savannah Guthrie was among the first to celebrate the announcement, describing Carson as someone who makes every segment better and brings love and light to the show. Al Roker, Craig Melvin, Sheinelle Jones, and other colleagues also celebrated his new position with Guinness beers, a nod to his Irish heritage.

He has since become a familiar face on the morning program through his PopStart entertainment segment, where he interviews celebrities and covers news from music, sports, and pop culture.
