Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Quiet UK Strategy ‘Worked Really Well,’ Expert Claims

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent visit to the United Kingdom may have looked very different from previous royal appearances, but one expert believes that was entirely intentional.

Earlier this month, the Duke of Sussex spent nearly a week in Britain, balancing a mixture of public engagements and private commitments. While many royal watchers expected Meghan to join him at several events, the Duchess of Sussex ultimately remained out of the public eye.

Instead, Meghan reportedly traveled to the UK later in the visit with the couple’s two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Neither Meghan nor the children made any public appearances during their stay.

According to brand and culture expert Nick Ede, the decision appears to have been a carefully considered strategy that benefited both Harry and Meghan.

Speaking to the Daily Express, Ede suggested that keeping a lower profile helped reduce the intense public scrutiny the couple has faced for years.

“I think it’s actually a good thing that she isn’t making big appearances and keeping a low profile works really well for the two of them,” he said.

He added that avoiding high-profile public events may allow Meghan to continue rebuilding her reputation while limiting opportunities for criticism.

“It stops them being scrutinised relentlessly and also allows her to build her reputation and life back rather than big events where she can be open to ridicule,” Ede explained.

The visit has also renewed speculation that Harry and Meghan hope to spend more time in Britain with their children in the future. However, that possibility is still closely tied to ongoing security concerns.

Prince Harry has repeatedly stated that he does not believe it is safe for Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet to visit the UK without enhanced police protection.

Reports suggest those security arrangements also influenced the timing of the family’s latest trip. Meghan and the children reportedly arrived later than originally planned and remained in the country for only a short period while Harry worked to secure additional protection for them.

Although the Sussexes maintained an unusually low public profile throughout the visit, experts believe that may have been precisely what they intended. Rather than generating headlines through public appearances, the couple’s quieter approach has shifted attention toward their family life and long-term plans, while potentially easing some of the relentless scrutiny that has surrounded them in recent years.
