Carson Daly’s long run as host of The Voice could reportedly be coming to an end.

Daly has hosted NBC’s hit singing competition since it debuted in 2011 and is scheduled to return for Season 30, which premieres later this year. However, new reports claim the veteran television personality may not return for Season 31, making the upcoming season his final one as host.

According to The U.S. Sun, Daly decided to step away because of the challenges of balancing his demanding work schedule with family life.

In addition to hosting The Voice in Los Angeles, Daly also serves as a co-host on NBC’s Today, which is filmed in New York. The report claims the frequent cross-country travel has become increasingly difficult.

A source told the outlet that Daly plans to remain involved with the franchise as an executive producer despite stepping away from hosting duties.

The insider also claimed that “the door is open if he wants to return for Season 32.”

The speculation gained additional attention after TV Insider highlighted several Reddit posts from people who said they attended Season 31 tapings.

According to those attendees, Daly was absent during filming. Instead, they claimed actress and entertainer Keke Palmer hosted the episodes while Riley Green, Queen Latifah, and Joe Jonas served as the season’s coaches.

What to expect from Season 30

The rumors surfaced just weeks before Season 30 is set to premiere on September 21.

The new season will feature returning coaches Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine, alongside first-time coaches Riley Green and Queen Latifah.

Ahead of the premiere, Green reflected on joining the coaching panel during an interview with K99.1 FM, admitting he was initially surprised to receive the offer.

“When they called me about it, they were interested in me being on the show, I still thought, ‘There’s no way,’” Green said. “It’s been such a cool experience.”

He also praised his fellow coaches.

“Everybody’s great, Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah, Adam Levine,” Green continued. “I just can’t believe I’m on the show. All the contestants that are coming on there, it’ll be cool to get to try to help them out along the way.”

For now, Carson Daly remains the official host of Season 30, but unless NBC says otherwise, reports that he plans to step away after the season remain unconfirmed.
