The 41-year-old is expected to spend around a week in the UK in September, with a schedule of engagements linked to the Invictus Games, which will be held in Birmingham next summer, as well as WellChild, the charity supporting seriously ill children.

It has not yet been decided whether Meghan Markle, 45, or the couple’s children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, will accompany him.

Harry Wants A Greater Connection With Britain

Sources say Harry hopes to spend more time in Britain so he can see his father and wider family more regularly while also giving greater attention to his UK-based charitable work.

A source close to Harry told The Sunday Times that the pattern of his recent visits has worked well and that his trips are expected to become more frequent, particularly as he prepares for the Birmingham Invictus Games.

The source said Harry wants “more of a foothold” in Britain, more regular trips and fewer court-related disputes, while adding that he continues to enjoy seeing his family.

However, it remains unclear whether Harry will see King Charles during his September visit, as the monarch is expected to be spending his summer break at Balmoral in Scotland. There has also been no decision on whether Harry will stay at Buckingham Palace.

King Charles’ Private Reunion With Harry And His Family

During Harry and Meghan’s UK visit last month, King Charles secretly hosted the couple and their two children at Highgrove in Gloucestershire.

Queen Camilla was also present for the meeting, which marked the first public in-person meeting between father and son in four years.

Charles had not seen Archie and Lilibet since 2022, when they were three and one respectively.

Meghan later shared a photograph of Harry and their children in the gardens of Althorp, carrying bouquets of flowers. They were believed to have been preparing to visit Princess Diana’s grave.

The reunion appears to have had a significant emotional impact on Harry, with sources describing him as particularly energised after spending time with his family.

Harry Hopes King Charles Will Attend The Invictus Games

Harry is also understood to want his father to stand alongside him at next summer’s Invictus Games in Birmingham.

King Charles has reportedly received an invitation to attend the multi-sport event, which would represent another potential opportunity for the father and son to appear together.

One source told The Mirror that the Birmingham Games are particularly important to Harry and that having his father there would mean a great deal to him.

Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior working royals in 2020 before moving to California. In recent months, they have also spoken about wanting their children to maintain a connection with their British roots.

Harry’s Plans Beyond Britain

Harry is reportedly also hoping to return to Ukraine in the coming months, having visited the war-torn country twice during the past two years.

During a visit to Warwickshire last month, Harry spoke warmly about being in Britain, describing it as the highlight of his month and possibly of the previous few months.

His latest plans suggest that Britain could play a more prominent role in his life over the coming year, particularly through his family connections and charitable commitments.

Whether those more frequent visits lead to a lasting improvement in his relationship with the Royal Family remains to be seen.
