THIS is the horrifying moment machete-wielding yobs on bikes brawl with a driver at traffic lights in a city centre.
The terrifying incident unfolded in Hulme, Manchester, on Saturday after a silver Vauxhall stopped at a set of traffic lights.
A trio of armed thugs can be seen pulling up next to the car on what appear to be e-bikes.
One swings a large blade at the passenger side window of the stopped vehicle.
From the other side, two more thugs begin swinging weapons at the people in the car.
Chaos then unfolds as the driver’s side door of the vehicle opens and one of the thugs leaps off their bike.
The people in the car attempt to get out but the thugs with the weapons keep up their assault, swinging their blades at the passengers and driver.
Suddenly, the driver manages to get out of the vehicle and lunges at the thug still on the bike.
The bike is tipped over and the weapon-wielding yob retreats before the driver rushes back to the car.
At the same time the passenger in the Vauxhall rushes from the car and runs at the attackers.
A weapon can be seen in the driver’s hand as the passenger squares off with the e-bike yobs in the road.
The group begin swinging their weapons at each other as the driver and passenger in the car retreat to the vehicle.
One of the bike thugs then aims a large blade at the rear window of the vehicle, smashing the glass completely.
The group continue to swing their weapons at each other before the trio who showed up on bikes retreat.
Both the passenger and the driver then climb back into the car and flee the scene.
The driver appears to have been wounded in the melee, with blood coming from his head.
One person suffered serious injuries in the altercation and was rushed to hospital for treatment – where he remains.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of affray, assault, grievous bodily harm, and possession with intent to supply class B drugs.
He was further arrested on suspicion of evading lawful custody and assaulting an officer.
And a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray, possession of a class B drug, and possession with intent to supply class B drugs.
Both remain in custody at this time, police said.
The footage of the violent incident appears to have been filmed by a bystander in a car behind the Vauxhall.
Throughout the terrifying video the person filming can be heard begging for the violence to come to an end.
Initially they shout: “Oh my god, they’ve got machetes.”
They can then be heard repeating, “Oh no” and, “Please stop it” as the violent brawl continues.
He continues: “They’ve got f***ing knives, oh this is just bulls**t, welcome to Britain guys, welcome to England, this is the s**t that we put up with, day in and day out.”
