Carrie Underwood took the stage at her church over the weekend for a special worship performance that left the congregation cheering.
On Sunday, August 9, the country superstar made a surprise appearance at Rolling Hills Community Church in Franklin, Tennessee, where she and her family have attended for years. Underwood occasionally joins the church’s worship team, and this weekend, she once again shared her powerful voice with the congregation.

The singer performed two worship songs, “What A Beautiful Name” and “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.”
Underwood has never been shy about sharing her Christian faith. She grew up attending church in Checotah, Oklahoma, where she first began singing in public. Her faith has remained an important part of her life and music career.

In 2021, she released My Savior, a gospel album featuring classic Christian songs including “How Great Thou Art,” “Softly And Tenderly,” and “Amazing Grace.” The album also featured CeCe Winans on “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.”
Underwood has also brought her faith to American Idol. After becoming a judge in 2025, she helped push for a special Gospel Night when the show aired on Easter Sunday. The episode received strong praise, with fellow judge Luke Bryan giving Underwood credit for the idea.

The singer has also performed at Rolling Hills Community Church during Easter, Christmas and other services. Her latest appearance was another special moment for both the congregation and her fans.
During “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” Underwood shared the stage with another talented vocalist. According to fans on TikTok, the singer was Jennifer Akers, who serves as a worship pastor at the church.
Akers’ powerful vocals quickly caught the attention of viewers, with many praising her performance alongside Underwood.
For fans who know Underwood for her country hits and massive stage performances, seeing her use that same incredible voice in a church setting offered a very different but equally memorable side of the superstar.
