She Had Said Goodbye To The Stage, The Show, And Seven Years Of Memories—but It Was Her Daughter’s Few Simple Words That Finally Broke Kelly Clarkson. After Seven Seasons And More Than 1,200 Episodes, Kelly Clarkson Was Standing Through The Final Goodbye, Trying To Take In The End Of A Chapter That Had Shaped So Much Of Her Life. Her Children, River And Remington, Were There Beside Her—and Then River Spoke……

Kelly Clarkson became emotional during the final episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show after her children shared heartfelt messages about their time on the show.

As Clarkson prepared to say goodbye to her Emmy-winning daytime talk show on August 31, she was joined by her children, River and Remington, who looked back on some of their favorite moments from the past seven seasons.

Remington, 10, recalled enjoying a conversation with Jason Momoa and performing My Way with the show’s band.

River, 11, had a much more personal message for her mother.

“I like watching you shine every single day,” she told Clarkson.

The sweet words immediately brought tears to Clarkson’s eyes. The singer stepped back for a moment to collect herself before joking that her daughter had pulled an Oprah Winfrey-style move on her.

After regaining her composure, Clarkson invited both children to join her onstage for the show’s final goodbye.

Holding her children close, the Grammy winner reflected on the experience of welcoming viewers into her life for seven years.

“I loved being in your homes each day,” Clarkson told the audience. She also said she was grateful that fans had been able to watch her children grow up during the show’s run.

Clarkson went on to thank the show’s crew, musicians and everyone who helped make the program possible, calling the experience an incredible opportunity.

She then delivered one final version of her familiar sign-off, telling viewers, “Have a great day. And if it’s not, change it.”

The emotional finale also highlighted why Clarkson decided it was time to step away from daytime television.

Earlier this year, the singer explained that changes in her family life helped her realize she needed to make more time for her children. Her former husband and the children’s father, Brandon Blackstock, died in 2025 after battling cancer.

During a February appearance on Today, Clarkson opened up about how the experience changed her perspective and made her want to slow down.

She explained that there was simply too much on her plate and that stepping away from the talk show felt like the right choice for her family.

After more than 1,200 episodes across seven seasons, The Kelly Clarkson Show has officially come to an end. But Clarkson made it clear that this is not the end of her career.

With music, live performances and other projects still ahead, the singer is closing one chapter while making room for a new one, this time with her children at the center of it.
