Following the huge success of the Netflix series, Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House is getting a brand-new adaptation for the stage.
Ahead of its world premiere in a few months, the full cast has been announced.
The show follows a team of investigators who decide to unravel the mysteries of the famous Hill House, but once they turn up, they discover that they may be fatally in over their heads.
The cast list is as follows:
- Jasper Britton as Dr Montague
- Jemma Churchill as Mrs Montague
- Sian Howard as Mrs Dudley
- Sophie Lenglinger as Theo
- Robin Morrissey as Luke
- Clancy Ryan as Eleanor
Stef Smith, the Olivier- and BAFTA-winning writer who adapted Jackson’s work for the stage. “Shirley Jackson created one of the greatest haunted house stories ever written, and it’s an absolute honour to adapt it for the stage.
“I’m so excited by this cast, whose talent, sensitivity and imagination will breathe new life into these characters. I can’t wait for audiences to experience The Haunting of Hill House in a completely new way.”

The press release claims that the new version of Jackson’s “masterpiece” will blur the line “between heart-thumping suspense and the supernatural”, and is recommended for ages 12 and up.
The Haunting of Hill House live show kicks off in September, while the show can be streamed on Netflix now.
