The Final Question That Secured Carlisle’s £100,000 Win

The pair were challenged to identify two words that appeared exactly three times in the opening verse of the original version of Three Lions, the iconic football anthem.

With the lyrics displayed on screen to help them, both contestants submitted their answers. However, the seemingly straightforward task proved decisive.

Griffith chose the word “they”, overlooking the fact that one of its appearances was actually “they’ve”. As a result, his answer was ruled incorrect.

Carlisle, meanwhile, correctly identified “it” and “know”, securing the £100,000 prize for charity and bringing the competition to a memorable conclusion.
