Strictly fans question Neil Jones’ reaction as he appears to pull a ‘disgusted’ face during Jaime Winstone’s dance
Strictly Come Dancing viewers have been left wondering what was behind Neil Jones’ reaction after the professional dancer appeared to pull a displeased face following Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu’s latest performance.
The moment caught the attention of eagle-eyed fans, with several taking to social media to question why Neil seemed to shake his head as the couple finished their routine.
The reaction comes amid continued discussion about Neil’s role in the BBC ballroom competition, having once again missed out on being paired with a celebrity contestant this series.
Neil Jones’ reaction catches viewers’ attention
Jaime Winstone and her professional partner, Carlos Gu, took to the dance floor with a Foxtrot during the latest live show.
The performance marked a change of pace from the previous week, when the pair jointly topped the leaderboard with an energetic Paso Doble set to David Bowie’s music.
This time, however, the judges awarded them 25 points, a considerable drop from their previous score of 34.
As Jaime and Carlos finished their routine, Neil was spotted shaking his head and seemingly pulling a face. The brief moment quickly became a talking point among viewers, although it was not clear what had prompted his reaction.
One fan shared a clip of the moment on social media, asking: “Sorry Neil have you got a problem with Jaime Winstone’s dance pal?”
Another viewer questioned: “Why did Neil look disgusted?”
A third was equally unimpressed by his apparent expression, writing that he “had a face like a slapped a***.”
Fans call for Neil to receive a celebrity partner
Some viewers used the moment to renew calls for Neil to be given a celebrity partner of his own.
The professional dancer, who is a fan favourite among some Strictly viewers, has not been paired with a celebrity contestant since 2024. Instead, he has continued to appear in group routines and other segments during the live shows.
In September, it was reported that Neil was “gutted” to have missed out on a celebrity partner once again for the current series.
His absence from the main competition has continued to frustrate some fans, with one viewer arguing that giving him a partner could put an end to the situation.
“Neil needs to be given a partner & all will be solved,” the fan wrote.
They continued: “I’ve had enough of him being there to make up the numbers.
“He’s a great dancer & deserves to have a partner for the series!”
Whether Neil’s expression was connected to the performance or something else remains unclear. Nevertheless, the brief moment has once again drawn attention to the professional dancer’s position on the show, as fans continue to question why he has not returned to the celebrity competition.
